Hail Damage 101

WHAT IS HAIL? Hail is a form of precipitation consisting of solid ice that forms inside thunderstorm updrafts and can cause serious damage to your home. Hail size can be anywhere from pea size (1/4 inch diameter) to Grapefruit size (4-1/2 inch diameter)

How Do I Know If I Have Hail Damage?

Not all hail damage is obvious and can be very subtle and hard to identify.  Sometimes you will see dents/dings on your shingles or spots that are darker in color. If you see roofs in your neighborhood being repaired and suspect that your roof has been damaged by hail, contact one of our insurance specialists to setup a free roof inspection. 3

Steps For A New Roof

   1. Have your roof pre-inspected by one of our roofing/insurance specialists

   2. Call your insurance and file a claim for the storm damages to your property and get a claim

       number.

   3. Sign our standard agreement to hire Mile Hi Roofing as your contractor. We will meet with your

insurance company on your behalf to ensure that all storm related damages to your home will be

covered by your insurance. Mile Hi will provide any ladder assistance, photos, and estimates

approved, the only out-of-pocket expense you should experience is your deductible.

   4. Typically, within (3) business days after filing the claim, the adjuster will call you to schedule a

time for the inspection. Mile Hi Roofing and your insurance adjuster will meet at your property. It

is important that you relay this information to your Mile Hi project manager. If possible, take down

the adjusters name, phone number and appointment
